girlfriend fun!

So this week, a few of us girls went out to celebrate Michelle's birthday! Michelle is one of my best friends, she doesn't have a blog, but maybe I can work on that, we just got her on facebook a few months ago! We we went to California Dreaming and it was delightful! Here we are before heading off, we all kept saying, "we need to take a picture because we don't ever dress up!" lol!

Me, Michelle, Bethany, and Allison!
{I like how you can't see my belly in this picture}
So, I took another picture to show off the belly! I don't know why it looks like I have a ghetto butt in this picture, but maybe it was the angle, the dress, or the way I was standing! haha
24 weeks! {don't worry I did take a pink tank picture too, I posted that on fb}
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I dropped Mike off at the airport Saturday morning, he is leading a trip to Guatemala (the same trip we both lead last year). I couldn't go this year, obviously because I am way to pregnant to be doing any kind of manual labor in another country! He will be gone for 7 days, and hopefully it'll go by fast! I'll be working all week, and my mom is coming over to help me on MC's nursery! I think we might go get the paint for her room, and even start painting! Who knows!!! I am excited about it though!

Also, keep me in your prayers, I still can't manage to get rid of this nasty cough, sore throat that I've had for a week now. It gets better and than worse, and some days, I've been waking up without a voice! I went to my doctor and it wasn't strep throat, so I've just been taking it easy and taking the meds that they said were ok for me to have while pregnant, which isn't much! :)

summer lovin'

These are a few things I'm loving this summer season, especially being pregnant, & these girl clothes are getting me very excited about next summer being Maggie Claire's first summer!

1. This adorable dress is already hanging in MC's closet. She will be the sweetest thing around in this carter's strawberry dress w/matching bloomers!
2. I found these yummy looking strawberry cookies over at Kara's Party Ideas along with an entire strawberry themed birthday party. Very cute stuff & you should check it out!
3. Nothing is cuter than a romper, well, maybe an orange citrus romper from gymboree.com! They even have matching orange slice flip flops.
4. Ice cold lemonade. I've never actually made freshly squeezed lemonade, maybe this summer will be a first. I normally stick with the good ole country time lemonade mix. so yummy!
5. tropical flavored popsicles. I love them. I eat them all the time. Sometimes more than twice a day. Being pregnant is making me want popsicles all the time! :)
6. All things watermelon. I found these cute watermelon cookies over at Cakewalk. I think I might have to make some of these for the fourth of July! Nothing says 4th of July better than watermelon!
7. I bought these popsicle bamboo leg warmers from babysnazz.com a while back on clearance for $2.45! I'm in the process of making a popsicle hairbow to go with them for MC. I love the baby leg warmers and I think leg huggers makes the cutest ones!
8. I'm loving the Popsicle Party line over at gymboree.com right now. This little dress and bathing suit makes me so excited about taking MC to the pool and beach next summer! It's embroidered with popsicles & icecream on it! :)
9.Last but not least, the floral reef collection at gymboree.com. This "underwater friends" outfit is too cute with the matching aqua blue & orange fish sandals!

fun filled weekend & cute yummy treats!

This week has been kinda crazy, but filled with a lot of good things! It was my first full week in my new posotion at the school, I am in the preschool area in the 2 year old classroom. My boss was concerned for be being outside so much with the bigger kids while pregnant this summer, so she moved me inside to the preschool, which is still an adjustment for me! It's been great though! I work with three other ladies, and they are too sweet and fun to be around, and I think this summer will just fly by! {I can't believe that we are already to the end of June!}

On Friday, Mike and I bought a new bookshelf for our living room to hold all of our books & scrapbooks that were all on the shelves in Maggie's room. Her room is finally junk free!

Here's our new bookshelf, and it's so full, it's crazy how many books we have!
We also put together her crib & we got the crib bedding in the mail that my Papa Joy & Mema Pat got for us! I absolutely love it! It's very bright and colorful!

Here's the crib and changing table! {the lighting is awful in the room right now, but they are both white}. Of course, I'll be rearranging the furniture in there, but for right now, this is what the room looks like. I'm still deciding on a color to paint the walls. I'm thinking pink of course, but I also would love an orange sherbert color... What do you guys think??
This is the desk & shelves that are becoming her closet. We hung up a rod to hang all her clothes. I'm planning on getting matching baskets to go on the shelves to put a lot of her things in. Right now, it obviously just has some random things on the shelves that I was getting out of the way, and the books stacked on the side are all for sale on half.com. Instead of throwing it all away, I was hoping to sell some of the books that we don't need anymore! {Already sold three of them!}
When we were in Atlanta, I picked up this double mirror set from IKEA. It was only $14.99 and they are great mirrors!! How cute are they?!?! I think having mirrors in children's rooms are a necessity, little miss Maggie Claire, will need to see how beautiful God created her!!!Over at Bakerella, in honor of Toy Story 3 coming out this weekend, she made these adorable Mr. Potato Head & Hamm cake pops! I think they are so cute! If you haven't heard of Bakerella, you need to check out her yummy treats. I would love to try and make these, but I feel like I would screw them up! I might give it a try one day!
Mike and I went & saw Toy Story 3 on Saturday after church, and oh yes, it was great! I love all of the toy story movies, and they are by far my #1 choice of pixar movies!
Today, I had to call into work, I really hate doing that, but I am feeling pretty awful. I have felt really good this entire pregnancy, and this weekend I woke up with a gunky sore throat, and some sort of stomach bug that doesn't feel good. Today, I will be resting & hopefully feeling better by tonight. I really don't want to miss our small group! :)

Happy Monday everyone!

more miscellany

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

I'm participating in Miscellany Monday again this week!

{1.} CSN stores has given me the opportunity to do a review of my choice. I had to choose something from one of their websites and they offer everything from baby items, cookware, to sofas. Of course I chose a baby item to review, these awesome dwell studio soft blocks! I can't wait to get them in the mail!
{2.} my handsome newest little nephew is getting so big! Here are a couple of photos that I took from my sis in law. He is just so stinkin sweet! He's growing so fast, he gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks! Way to go little Tate man!
love that smile!
{3.} I couldn't remember if I ever posted pictures from swimming with my other nephew Jack. He is quite the little fishy, and loves to jump off the side of the pool! He wasn't happy at first because he didn't want to put the floaties on his arms, but once he got in the water, he had so much fun! {this picture was from the first time he went swimming this summer}. He's built up his confidence and I think last week when they went swimming, he jumped off the diving board at his nana's house. He's quite the character! love that kid! :)
{4.} I am so very excited about buying baby things for our little miss MC. We went to register at babies r us last week and oh boy was it fun! Here is an item from our baby registry that is one of my favs. It's a cupcake/sprinkles bobby cover. Now, you guys know how much I love cupcake things, so I couldn't resist scanning it onto our registry! :) Here's the link to Maggie Claire's registry!

Elevation '10 summer camp!

This past week I've been hanging out at our youth summer camp, Elevation, in Myrtle Beach, SC. This is the first year we did the camp in Myrtle Beach, and it was HOT! Especially for this preggo mama. I drank so much water this past week, I was seriously in the bathroom 20-30 times a day! It was fun, the students enjoyed it, and there was life change in so many students that I'm looking forward to seeing how these students will grow in the future! I feel so privileged to be able to pour into these students lives! Sometimes it's kinda crazy living the life of a youth pastor's wife, but it is so worth it in the end!

This is me with a bunch of the 7th grade girls on the beach the first day we arrived!
{we were the green team}
During one of the services the students had the opportunity to give things to Jesus and nail it to the cross. Powerful stuff going on in these student's lives!
This is during the MEGA relay that we did on the beach!
I think this was the red team!
Me & Mike, right when we were taking the picture, he decided to take my lollipop! haha
This is me with the girls in my room! I love all of them and I pray that God will use them to share His love to others!!! They will be heavily on my heart this week, and I will be praying all kinds of crazies for them to be radical for Him!
What a blessing it was to be a part of this summer camp! Also, I posted about 200 pictures on facebook, so if you want to see more pictures from camp you can go to my facebook page here.

Here is my post from Elevation'09 last year.

vacation part 2

After waiting at a tire store for 3 hours and realizing that we were not going to make it on the cruise ship we decided to take a little trip to Atlanta. Our first stop was at one of our favorite restaurants, fuddruckers. Yes, I think it's one of our favorites because we don't have one in Charleston. So, when we travel we always try to eat at one. We've been to one in San Deigo, Tulsa, Charlotte, Hilton Head, Tennessee, and now Atlanta. I've probably missed a few places, but that's all I can think of right now. oh yes, and that is my cute new "cruise outfit" that my mother-in-law got me the day before we were leaving!
One of the best parts of this vacation was that our hotel had free otis spunkmeyer cookies all the time in the lobby and there was a quiktrip right infront of the hotel that we would walk to at night to get slushies and drinks! If you don't know..... I love quiktrip.... I'm just waiting to get one on Charleston one day! :)

Day 2: we went to the original The Varsity in Atlanta for lunch. They all yell "What'll ya have?" When you walk in to order. It's really a fun place to eat! {I put on my varsity hat for the picture, I don't know why Mike didn't have his on!}
{My cute new pink maternity shirt is from Target, my mom got it for me last week!}
Our next stop was the World of Coca-Cola!
Of course, they did have a lot of cool coke bottles.
cool artifacts...

that "barefoot boy" painting was the most expensive artifact in the entire museum.
I loved this central room, all the pretty colors on the wall!
This is the pharmacist, who invented the coke syrup. He was of course all over the museum.
This was the American Idol coke couch from season 5, I think, I don't really remember exactly what season the sign said. Anyways, that was pretty cool!
My favorite part was the test room. There were so many coke products from around the world that you would test, and of course, even the classics, such as my favorite cherry coke. Yes, I love cherry coke, it's my favorite! {I've been having to keep check on my caffeine intake, so I try to stay away from sonic happy hour more than twice a week!} I did enjoy the watermelon fanta, they sell it in another country. That was some good stuff!
After we left the world of coke, there was just enough time for some afternoon layout time by the pool before we went to our final stop for the evening...
Braves Game!
Now, just for starters, I am the Braves fan, I grew up going to Braves games when I was little, and that is my family's team! I also love going to baseball games. Mike is the Cardinals and Astros fan, and of course, I am fans of those teams too because Mike is! Although, Mike doesn't seem to be a big Braves fan for me, and he refuses to do the tomahawk chop at the game. Maybe one day that'll change!

There was a rain delay when we got there {It had stopped raining by the time we got to our seats} and we had to wait an hour for the game to start, but it was so fun though!
Go Braves!
Of course the Braves won, even though we didn't stay the entire game. We left at 11 and it was only the 7th inning!
But of course I wanted to stay until the 7th inning stretch so we could do take me out to the ballgame! Go Braves!
I had my cute new dress on that my mom got, but I never got a full length picture of me in it! I'm sure I'll wear it another time too! well, the next day we made our way back home after a fun stop at Ikea. It was a vacation gone bad, but we turned it into something good! :)

It was kinda funny because on our way to Atlanta when I should have been sobbing my eyes out because we didn't make it on our cruise, I was actually laughing so hard at all of the different people we ran into that I was about to pee my pants. Mike and I really had a great time! :)

vacation gone bad...

so instead of being on our cruise, our house got flooded and our car about fell apart. It was a sad day!

yes, when we woke up Sunday morning, the day we were going to start heading towards Florida so we wouldn't miss our ship, our house had about 1/2 inch of water in our bathroom, laundry room, closet, and front entryway.

Here is one of the men who came and sucked all the water out of our carpet.
We had to move all of our furniture that was on that side of the house so the water wouldn't soak up in it. We had to empty out our closet also, so we put everything on the bed.
My pretty bath mats got nasty wet! Everything had to come off the floor of course!
This is some water damage that is on our wall in the laundry room. What happened was our neighbor's water heater broke. And she wasn't home, so I was the one who called, after it flooded her entire apartment, and came into ours.
After we moved all of our furniture and had those huge dryers blowing throughout our house under our carpet, We decided that we were definitely going to need this vacation!

We went to our parenting class that night and then we were headed off to Florida! Well, we were about 2.5 hours from home and our car started making this noise and shaking. Then it got really bad and felt like our front alignment was way off or we had a flat tire. I thought it was a flat tire, so I jumped out of the car running around the car trying to figure out which tire it was. Well, all the tires looked just fine and we didn't know what it was.

We called a tow truck at 1130 at night to come and get us and we would get a rental car and just head on our way. Well, turns out that since it's Memorial Day weekend, every rental car place was closed, even the ones at the airport. So we were dunzo. We had no car to get to Florida to get on our cruise ship. And we had no idea what to do with our car because we couldn't just leave it at a hotel for 5 days.

After getting checked into a hotel after 1 am in the morning in Savannah, we stayed up til around 3 am trying to figure out what we were going to do. Around 2am the tow truck guy called us because he was going to drop our car off at a shop to get fixed, and told us that he knew what happened to our car and it was 2 of the studs that the lug nuts go on had broken off and our tire was only being held on by one lugnut!!!! Our tire was about to fall off our car! Well, he dropped the car off back to us because he put 2 lug nuts on that tire so we could at least drive it to get it fixed the next day.

We waited over 3 hours getting our tire fixed that next morning, not leaving enough time to drive to Miami to get on the cruise. I was so sad. I knew this cruise trip was too good to be true. Luckily, we did buy the insurance so we could get a refund if we had to cancel.

Now we are in the process of filing a claim to get our money back. Please pray that everything works out and we are able to get our money back! We have been on the phone the last 2 days trying to figure this out, and it has been so stressful for this preggo gal.

I'll be ok, and one day we'll go on our cruise. I'll finish the rest of the trip tomorrow, it does get a little better!

ps: Is it weird that Mike and I were married 666 days when this tragic event happened to us? I think Satan was trying to attack us!
